SUNDAY SERVICE GUIDE – MARCH 29th, 2020

Good morning Rooted Fellowship. We understand worship looks a bit different this morning. We may not physically be together, but we can all be present with the Father this morning, as one body.

It is important to remember that even though we are not gathered together, we still remain a church, although scattered.

Here follows a guide to help you worship this morning. Whether you are by yourself or with friends and/or family, we pray that God would meet you in a powerful way.

CALL TO WORSHIP

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,

and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me;

for I am gentle and humble in heart,

and you will find rest for your souls.”

[PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE]

PRAYER FOR TRUST

Father, sometimes the way ahead seems so clear, but at other times the way seems covered with uncertainty and filled with more questions than answers.

We want to be in Your perfect will, Lord, and so, we pray that Your will be done in every area of our lives.

As we step out into the future, we place our trust in You, for we are sure that You read the thoughts of our hearts and know that our desire is to remain in the centre of Your perfect will.

Lord, lead us on the right path that is best for us. Help us to trust in You, for You have promised to be with us wherever we go and You know the steps that we take.  Keep us safe we pray, for our trust is in You, and may we only do that which glorifies You.

In Jesus name, we pray,

Amen.

PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION

Spend time praying together for the issues of our day and the concerns of those present. If desired, please feel free to use the prayers below.

Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come. Your Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory, forever and ever. Amen.

GENEROSITY

During this time of uncertainty, it is important for us to continue to worship through our giving as a confession of the reality that we depend entirely on God’s provision. Further, it is our privilege to participate in extending His love to others.

As we prepare our hearts to give, let’s say this generosity prayer together.

Lord, it is from Your goodness that we have received all that we have. With open hands, we give back what was always Yours, so that your Kingdom might come on earth as it is in Heaven.

How to GIVE.

BENEDICTION

“May the God of hope

fill you with all joy and peace in believing,

so that you may abound in hope

by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

  • Romans 15:13, NRSV
    AMEN

[PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE]

PRAYER FOR PEACE

Lord, You are where we look for our help. You are the Maker of Heaven and Earth and You are the One who watches over us. Every moment of our lives is lived under Your watchful eye. We trust You for our peace as the uncertainty in our world grows. Watch over our families, our loved ones, our neighbours, and those who are vulnerable among us – both near and far — and give us peace. Amen.

PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION

Spend time praying together for the issues of our day and the concerns of those present. If desired, please feel free to use the prayers below.

Father, we pray for those currently ill with the virus afflicting our world. We ask You to miraculously heal those who are sick and to stop the spread of this virus.

Lord, hear our prayer.

We pray for those in positions of power.  May they make wise decisions on our behalf. We lift up our President, our government and local officials, and all those in leadership positions – be it government, business, academia, non-profit or community.

Lord, hear our prayer.

We pray for those working in the medical professions, who are on the front lines of the crisis.  We ask you to protect them as they serve those impacted by this virus. For public health officials, we ask for wisdom into the best practices to combat the spread of this virus. We also pray for those working on a vaccine.  We ask for insight and supernatural direction in their research.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Lord, we also pray for our hearts and minds. Keep us from the oppressiveness of fear — from the anxiety of the unknown. Help us to trust in Your goodness and remind us that You will never leave us nor forsake us.

Lord, hear our prayer.

through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
